First flagship store in Denmark

Hellerup, just north of Copenhagen, is the location of the first Stenströms flagship store. Here, discerning customers will find items bearing the exclusive Stenströms label, including shirts, blouses, knits and accessories for both men and women. The store launch is a result of the strong development Stenströms has seen in Denmark, one of the company’s biggest export markets.
“Denmark is a strong market for Stenströms. Danish consumers are quality-conscious and design-oriented, and the brand has a solid position here. We are therefore very excited to be opening the first shop here, in Denmark. With our existing retailers, we hope to open similar shops in several countries,” says Anders Bengtsson, CEO, Stenströms Skjortfabrik.
The flagship store has been opened in collaboration with Danish parent company Bach Company A/S and is located on the ground-floor level of the company’s premises.

…tell us a bit about the collaboration leading up to the opening of a Stenströms shop in association with Bach Company.
“We have been doing business with Stenströms for more than 25 years and we know their products, quality and image. Stenströms has a fantastic reputation among customers, and it is a brand that appeals to everyone from 18 to 80 years of age. We have been selling menswear from the shop on Strandvejen in Hellerup for more than 25 years and the Stenströms shirt has always been our bestseller, even though we carry big names such as Hugo Boss, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Canali, Pal Zileri and others. Over the years, the Stenströms shirt collection has developed in a unique and innovative way, and as we often say: virtually every outfit can look smart with a quality shirt with distinctive details.”

How have customers reacted to the Stenströms launch?

“We have had an amazing reception and many fine compliments for the beautiful shop. The interior design and lighting scheme show colours and products at their best. Quite often, passers-by will simply open the door and say ‘good luck with your lovely shop; it is a bright spot on Strandvejen.”

What can customers expect to see as they enter the store?

“The flagship store entrance is at street level. In the centre of the shop a glass stairway leads down to a made-to-measure lounge, where customers can have suits, jackets and trousers custom-tailored in the best Italian quality fabrics and patterns, according to their personal wishes. We are one of few retailers in Denmark that can provide customers with a personalized outfit for business and pleasure. Stenströms Custom Made shirts are sold in the shop at street level, but the lounge and shop complement each other very well.”
