Stenströms menswear trends, Autumn 2017

This spring the gents are going on a safari. With the long winter behind us, we're longing for sunshine and warmth. We mix beige and green tones with vibrant accent colours like fuchsia and orange. We see a touch of a dressier '80s look, with the double-breasted linen jacket's wider lapels and a pair of smart, high-waisted trousers.

With the promise of brighter days ahead, we long to fill the wardrobe with colour. Green and beige are the basis of the 2018 spring collection. Green appears in many nuances, from olive to cool mint and apple green. A combination of olive, beige and orange is entirely right, both for work and weekend. The classic Stenströms light blue appears throughout, in shirts, knits and accessories.

A quilted vest is that indispensable extra layer you need before summer is really upon us. Welcome spring early and wear a down vest under a woollen overcoat. This year we’ve put a new spin on last year's big favourite, the vest. We present it in two versions; in nylon for a sporty style (navy, dove blue, moleskin, green and orange) and a reversible one in both linen and nylon (cream/moleskin, navy/green and moleskin/navy).

We see many variants of linen throughout the collection; for example, in knits, shirts, vests and jackets. Striped and microprint shirts are always important. Liven up your wardrobe with a wild-and-crazy Hawaiian shirt or large florals. Another new item is the popover half-button shirt in light denim. A big trend is the classic linen shirt. An eye-opener this season is the Seersucker, which has an exciting structure and is ideal on warm summer evenings. The buttondown collar is always in style and the Kent collar is making a comeback. We also present a collarless shirt which is ideal for a more casual style.

A linen blazer is your faithful companion this season. Wear it with shorts or chinos, from lunch to dinner. The linen jacket is also available in a double-breasted version. A key garment this spring is our safari jacket with bellows pockets. The jacket comes in three colours: green, navy and beige. A versatile garment, it can be both casual and a little dressier and is very comfortable.

Spring knits feature accents of warm, dark pink and orange, as well as green, beige and light blue. This year we mix and match different finishes and structures to make your outfit exciting. We also present a knit pullover with a structure called textured dot. It has small dots and is in a solid colour, while another version has dots that are darker than the background. Wear it together with a shirt with a microprint in the same colour. Merino wool, as always, is a big part of the collection, and this year we also have two new qualities: a twisted cotton and cotton/silk. A classic crew necked cable knit comes in several colours, including sand, mint, light blue, blue and coral. Enjoy!
